The Fifth Edition of the Ugreshsky Sbornik was released on the occasion of the Millennium celebrations of the Repose of the Holy Prince Vladimir Equal-to-the-Apostles. To this event, the articles of Archimandrite Platon, Professor, Doctor of Theology, and Mikhail Pervushin, PhD in Theology and Phylology, are devoted. Other articles reflect diversity of research interests of the Nickolo-Ugreshskaya seminary’s teachers. The Theology section of the book touches upon the issue of the influence of Pseudo-Dionysius the Areopagite’s works on the Rhenish medieval mysticism, and reveals similarity and difference in the comprehension of time in hesychasm and Martin Heidegger’s philosophy. In the Bible Studies section, the first Psalm comes under philological and exegetical analysis; in the Canon Law section, canonical impediments to ordination are considered.
Philology section is dedicated to the Occasion of the 1000th Anniversary of the Codex Marianus and Russian bibliophile Victor Grigorovich who discovered the Gospel in the Russian hermitage on the Mount Athos. History section deals with different topics from the Russian Church history and culture covering the period between 17th and 20th centuries. The training methodology section provides preparatory material to lectures on the History of Russia covering the same period. This section also shares methodological tips on how to properly master English and other foreign languages at the theological school.
For the first time, the Ugreshsky Sbornik has presented a special section dedicated to the works of the students of Master’s Program. Congratulations to the authors on the new Collected articles edition and wishes for further success and scientific achievements! Looking forward for new articles! |
